- Child and youth Stage 2 rotation focused on the urban population of Alice Springs.
- Remote referrals principally from visiting Paediatricians and Primary Health Care clinics contribute a high proportion of patients seen encompassing a broad range of conditions including trauma, spectrum/reactive attachment styles; neurodevelopment disorders including FASD and Autism Spectrum; anxiety, OCD, depression and psychosis.
- Trainees will develop close working relationships with the local Child Protection service, Paediatric service, and other NGO's.

- This is a consultation liaison post that provides specialist mental health service in reach to the 180 bed Alice Springs General Hospital.
- Over 80% of patients are Aboriginal with English as their second, third or fourth language.
- Trainees will be exposed to a wide range of conditions including the usual high prevalence disorders, somatic system and related disorders including the functional neurological symptom; and delirium.

- The trainee will be working with the Mark Sheldon Remote Outreach and Community Adult Mental Health teams.
- The remote outreach will involve visiting, by 4WD and plane, over 28 remote communities with experienced clinicians, Aboriginal Health Professionals and psychiatrists.
- There will be a wide range of patients seen with a variety of mental health diagnoses.
- Prominent will be the ability to conduct comprehensive cross-cultural assessments including risk assessment and crisis management planning.

- Provide skills acquisition specifically with assessment and management of mental illness in the Aboriginal population.
